Tennis rained out, but it did get us to the grocery store at 8:30 am. A low stress time to shop. One week down with no meat or alcohol is making for a much cheaper grocery bill.

But I think I won the lottery. I haven’t gotten off my butt to look at my ticket, but i know I definitely have a 2 somewhere on there. I feel really good about this.

TWINS Sequel, TRIPLETS, to Star Arnold... →
popculturebrain:
Here’s a thing nobody asked for.
I think its time for me to go live in a cabin in the woods with no TV or Internet. That way I don’t have to be aware that things like this are happening.

So my book club meeting for tonight was canceled and I have the house to myself. I’m watching Game Change since my husband has “no desire to relive that campaign.” Julianne Moore is so good - its a little weird to see her basically become Palin.

I think it has gotten too easy to load mass quantities of photos to an online album. People, please take a few moments to pick out the top 10 - hell, make it 20- pictures from your trip to Disneyland. No one but Grandma is going to slog through 673 (yes, 673) pictures of your toddler with Donald Duck and Goofy.

Aerosmith Plans First New Album Since '01 and Tour... →
I am hoping we don’t have to endure another movie as god-awful as Armageddon for them to promote their new single.

I know I am way behind on all the Draw Me stuff, everyone. Since we lost Murph, I’ve been OK overall, but something about the game is not appealing to me just now. She used to sit with me and look at me funny while I laughed out loud at my stupid drawings. I’ll get them one of these days!

Terrible Thought
Are Seinfeld references getting dated at this point? What’s the age cut off for assuming people will get what you are saying?
I could actually give you Cheers or MASH references, but I don’t think that would get me any further…

A Different Stripe: The Invention of Morel and... →
nyrbclassics:
The Invention of Morel has been mentioned as the influence for Lost (1, 2) and Last Year at Marienbad, but it also may be an inspiration for Hitchchock’s Vertigo.
In 2008 the Stanford Humanities Center put out a symposium on the 50th Anniversary of Vertigo, which featured …
Recommendation: read The Invention of Morel. Such a weird, dream-like, strange little book, but it...

Bad: Next to no sleep last night. F you insomnia.
Good: Finally drifted off at about 7 this morning. I have the day off, so this is fine.
Bad: Phone rang at 8:50
Good: It’s for a job interview 2 miles from my home. I’m awake and ready to get stuff done today - at least until I crash mid afternoon and thus restart the insomnia cycle tonight.

Tonight is our last night eating meat and drinking booze for awhile. We have been eating so crappily lately and are feeling so lazy that we are going to give our butts a kickstart. We’re going alcohol and meat free until May 1st (at least).
So tonight? We have a 6 pack of beer, a bottle of Prosecco, 2 bottles of wine, and bacon cheeseburgers.
On a related topic - feel free to send your...

DONE
I just finished my last assignment for my Developmental Psych class. The final test is tomorrow, but as long as I get a D or above, I have an A in the class, so I am not worried. This is it for school until the waiting lists finally land me in nursing school, hopefully as soon as Fall 2013. Oh, California schools - so affordable, but so annoying.

Too bad, so sad
Husband: Did you like that yogurt salad dressing I made?
Me: Yes! Super yummy!
Husband: Too bad we can never have it again. I don't know what I did - I went into a dressing making trance.

I'm not going to sit and mope on Tumblr
But let me just say that one of the worst parts of losing a pet is coming home to all their stuff. Cleaning up the food dish and her blankets was the worst.

mar-see-ah replied to your link: Interesting...
I was like that when I was younger, too. I did enjoy babysitting and always thought I wanted kids. Once I hit 22 or so, I realized that I actually had no desire. I do honestly enjoy my friends kids and love my niece and nephews like crazy, I just can’t imagine having that as a permanent part of my life. You said it perfectly - I don’t need one to be happy.

All together now
Everyone cross your fingers. We are headed to the vet to check out Murph’s x-rays with the vet and see exactly what is happening and what we can/can’t do about it. Please send some good vibes toward the West Coast for the next few minutes.
