Just watched the first episode with David Tennant. I like this.
Wine in hand and my husband swearing at the cats. Everything is back to normal.
Or have things been really quiet on the Suri Cruise front these days?
Maybe its just been too long since I had a haircut and caught up on US Weekly…
Yep. THIS
I have had 3 people ask me questions this week about saving for college. Here are my thoughts:
Save for retirement and manage risk first. Have an emergency fund. THEN save for your kids’ college.
Getting yourself through retirement is ultimately more important than you assisting with college for your kids. They will be able to take loans (a whole other topic, I know), but you can’t do that to fund your non-working years. It really is that basic.
Manage your risk - have life insurance. And ask your agent if there is a policy rider called “Waiver of Premium”. This is a rider that kicks in if you become disabled (from injury or illness) and pays all the premiums on your life insurance so you don’t lose your coverage in a time of need. If you can afford disability insurance, get that too. Protect your family by protecting your greatest asset: your ability to earn a living.
In an ideal world, everyone could save for retirement and their kids’ education in it’s entirety. But things rarely go as planned. You are not a bad parent if you don’t have much to help them out come college. They will resent you more if they are supporting you in your retirement.
I just followed a car that had a homemade banner in their back window that said “I Love Hanson”. When we got to a stoplight I realized they also had a license plate holder that said “My other ride is Taylor Hanson”.
The license plate holder was not homemade. Unless it was a custom job, there may be more of these out there.
ROCK ON.
The friends I am housesitting for have blackout shades in this bedroom. I think I need blackout shades - these are amazing.
