So my husband must have left the TV on for the dog today. When I got home he was watching PBS Newshour. We are going to have one well informed pup.

Goofy hanging out with my husband. He will be ours this week and we are so excited. He visits tomorrow and we get him Thursday night.

Today we met what I am pretty sure is going to be our new dog. This isn’t him, but we didn’t snap any pics and he is no longer on the adoption web site. However, he looks almost exactly like this. They think he is a Wheaten Terrier mix.

He is considered “special needs” since he spent the first years of his life with one person and no other dogs. There was no abuse, but socialization and finding a new person to trust are going to be issues.

We spent an hour together today and fell in love. We’ll meet him again next weekend, after our vacation. Then we will begin a transition from his foster home to ours in a way that keeps him as comfortable and unstressed as possible. He is NOT a dog for everyone, but his situation is one we can certainly work with and help him get comfortable and happy, so we feel its a good fit for us.

(I don’t have a source for the above pic, but again: it’s not the dog we looked at)

We got a call back on our inquiry for this dog. He is currently in a foster home and we just got an appointment to meet him on Thursday. I am mildly excited.

OK - we continue our search for a new rescue dog. Check out this guy! We are hoping to learn more about him this week.

We made an inquiry on this girl tonight. We’ll see if she’s a good fit for us!
